To you who turned me away
I pray for your acceptance
for you who rejected my bread
continued sustenance

I wish you wisdom
you who has sought to bind me to perception
and for you who has guided my arm
no deception

And you who has judged me
a pariah of your lesson
I enjoin not your hand nor heart
seek neither forgiveness nor blessing

I don't accept your judgment
nor admonishments
don't beg your pardon
nor appeal punishments

And to you who has turned to evil and called it just
and you who has turned my diamonds into dust
that has poisoned my garden for another's glory
that has sought to shut my mouth and end the story

civil rights are a tool of discrimination and prejudice
and all laws that don't have a wider view
or serve a higher purpose
should be summarily disregarded

tribalism is the great evil that causes societal sickness and inequity
(including american nationalism)
civil rights is the tool of this devil

i, for one, am not about to beg
for something i believe to be god-given

and all you terrorized americans
... i cry for your lost innocence
may god save you from the police state you yearn for


i refuse to accept the notion that
everyone's rights have to be sacrificed
to protect one group from another group.
i also reject the notion that our government or any government
has some inherent right to dispense rights and freedoms
according to civic loyalty.
governments do that only because governments have power to coerce.

the very concept of civil rights exists
for the sole purpose of denying them to one group of people
while granting them to another

tribalism in all its myriad forms
(like cultism, clannism, nationalism, nativism, patriotism, racism etc)
is simply an idea who's time has passed
with the advent of global travel communication and literacy

as we go forward it will be increasingly indefensible to suggest
that we are not all one people
rights are rights and not some paternal privilege
dispensed by political enterprises

nations are like sports teams
and everyone swears allegiance to one or another
- then we compete for trinkets
let's evolve
